On the 25th of October we found out that the MSC ALTAMIRA cargo ship had docked in Rotterdam however, we only received the official email notification from the logistics company on the 31st of October. Clearing the goods was a time-consuming affair. Several emails and phone calls had to be made to clear our goods through customs. We can’t tell you guys how excited we are. It’s so nice to have our own duvet, summer clothes and our baby photos and books in one (safe) place.
The last few weeks were a bit hectic, but also boring at the same time. We actually couldn’t plan our trip and book tickets as we weren’t 100% sure when and in what condition our boxes would arrive. The Rebul boxes from Rebulpack in Cape Town did an excellent job of protecting our belongings during the long journey. We highly recommend these shipping crates to anyone needing to pack stuff for domestic or international shipping.
South East Asia was on the cards as our next destination at the end of November, but plans have changed. We have been offered an apartment in London for 3 weeks in December. The last time I visited London was 1992, so you can imagine how excited we are to see London again and enjoy the Christmas spirit in the city. South East Asia is still on our planner but will be postponed until the beginning of January 2019.
The excitement is building for Sinterklaas in the Netherlands as the gifts and pepernoten begin to pile up.
