Now that the admin side of things has settled down, we finally have some time for ourselves again. We decided to go out on a Friday date night.
We love Asian tapas and found a restaurant in Enschede that served just that: Asaka. What a great experience it was!
Friendly staff were waiting for us on arrival and we had a very nice table, set with Asian crockery and chopsticks. We received the extensive menu and could order 5 dishes per person per round, so we could sample all different flavours, from sushi to wok dishes, from Teppanyaki to lovely soups. The good news was that you could order unlimited food as long as you didn’t waste any. Of course, if you didn’t like the taste of a particular dish, you could send it back, but if you ordered too much, they consider it as spillage and you pay extra. We applauded this!
We started with some lovely sushi and a Miso and Peking soup, followed by all different kinds of dishes. The Peking Duck (no 96) and the Yakitori (no 110) were 2 of my favourite warm dishes. The Uramaki Sushi and warm Sake rice wine were absolute favourites of Brett.
All told it was an amazing experience in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly, fast, accurate with our orders and the food was just what the doctor ordered. Will we go again? Yes, absolutely. Can we recommend it to friends and family? Yes, absolutely if you like Asian tapas style food you are in for a real treat!
MMM, looks amazing.
